BlackPeopleMeet is currently the largest dating site dedicated to Black singles, claiming over five million members around the globe! Run by the company “People Media,” this site is especially popular in the United States. 16,000 singles log onto the site each day, meaning the chance of there being active members nearby is very high (not to mention BlackPeopleMeet has over 900k users from the United States alone!). The site also has more females than males, making this site a good option for men (Black or otherwise) to find a woman online.
Who Uses Blackpeoplemeet
BlackPeopleMeet, as the name would suggest, is a dating service primarily directed towards connecting Black singles with other Black singles. However, the site does not discriminate against other races, so Caucasian, Asian, or Latin singles interested in finding a Black partner are welcome on the site as well. Currently, 95% of the user base is Black, with 35% being female and 75% being male. This ratio means high competition for males looking for either casual or committed relationships, which is what the site is mainly used for.

You can spend only a few minutes signing up for BlackPeopleMeet, or take as long as you want. Ultimately, it depends on how much information you provide for your dating profile. After providing your gender and partner preferences, you’ll need to provide your country. Next, submit your ZIP code, name, choice of password, birthday, and email address. The site will ask you to upload a profile picture, write a short section about yourself (which can be skipped), and choose a greeting (which is based on your choice of personality). Finally, you’ll arrive at the BlackPeopleMeet dating homepage!
How to Complete Your Profile on BlackPeopleMeet
The BlackPeopleMeet site will actually provide you with a percentage of your dating profile that’s been completed so far, making it very easy to see how much you have left. There are tons of options for you to review, and even if you completed every field during signup, you’d still have plenty of blank ones. Under “About,” you can provide information like education, occupation, and body type. Moving down the page, there are three long-form questions for you to answer, then seven multiple-choice personality questions. You can also post your favorite activities and even choose message ideas for people planning on sending you a message on BlackPeopleMeet.
You’ll have a couple of different options when it comes to finding the perfect partner on BlackPeopleMeet. Premium members have the best dating feature, Chat, but free members have a few different options as well. The most basic is the Search feature, which allows you to search by age, location, and whether or not the member has pictures. It also offers advanced features such as build or zodiac sign. Another option is “Match,” which will provide you with potential dating options every day. This shows you their picture, an overview of their profile, and lets you “Yes” or “Pass” the member.
Messaging on Blackpeoplemeet
As is the case with many other dating sites, messaging on BlackPeopleMeet is limited to paying members only. However, membership of BlackPeopleMeet opens up more opportunities than just simple messaging. You can also use the ConnectMe feature! Using this feature, you are given a private number to text and call other members on the site with. It even has a voicemail! Since the site generates a new number for you, you’ll never have to worry about your phone number getting leaked, making your calls worry-free!
With a BlackPeopleMeet membership, you get access to the chat feature, ConnectMe, and the ability to see who has Favorited or Fave’d you. Although BlackPeopleMeet sometimes offers a free trial, we weren’t able to obtain one during this review, so that’s something to keep an eye out for. The one-month dating plan costs a total of $19.75 and averages out to $4.94/week. The three-month plan averages out to $3.25/week (for a total of $38.97), and the six-month plan costs $71.70 (or $2.99/week).

Throughout our review, we were fairly impressed with the BlackPeopleMeet dating site. Although the site didn’t have a lot of features for us to review, the ones it had worked smoothly without a hitch. BlackPeopleMeet is definitely one of the viable dating sites for singles of all ethnicities who are looking for a Black partner, although it has its shortcomings. Not only people who may have trouble finding a match on BlackPeopleMeet are Black singles who are looking for a non-Black partner, but Black men severely outnumber women, so they would have to wait to get noticed. They should be able to find a match if they wait long enough, though. Our advice? Try the shortest possible plan and explore the site. If it doesn’t work in that time period, you need to try something else.
